Bolivia. Santa Cruz. Tropical heat and humidity. Wandering around possibly the largest and craziest market I have ever seen. Thousands of Bolivians, a few mennonites and 1 gringo. Woman selling mirrors wanders past. Reflection catches my eye. One shot from the hip.

What strikes me about this image is that it is not readily apparent that the reflection in the mirror is the photographer. Fun little catch, Flemming.
Yes, it’s quite quirky in that I’m shooting from the hip (which is about eye level of everyone else in Bolivia!)
Love it, mate! The rewards you get for being prepared …
Cheers mate, yes it’s possibly to stack the odds in one’s favor by anticipating and being prepared! “If you see the shot, you’re too late, you missed it” 🙂
Great instincts Flemming! You must have been so pleased when you saw that this worked.
Thanks Cathy, I had almost forgot about this image till I went through them. Quite lucky it worked out.
Youdaman mate! Cool shot indeed!
Reminds me of a shot I got quite by surprise when I had the ‘ghost of Fletch’ in the reflection of the True North heli perspex…kinda cool when things like that appear in images!
Thanks buddy. This was on purpose though, catching my own reflection, but quite lucky that it worked.
Wow! Great image standalone, you being in it (without a camera to your face to boot), makes it even better. Great stuff amigo, i’m in awe of your reflexes 🙂
Thanks – I told you and Brian I am a great pistolero 🙂
Did not doubt it for a moment!
Super cool shot Flemming, very clever.
Cheers Andrea, bit of luck as well, but it worked out.
haha, very cool. in my “i need to be asleep” mode it ashamedly took me a while to work out the self portrait part…. :-/ haha. great concept and well executed! 🙂
Gracias Stevo, if it was easy everyone would do it 🙂
well spotted.
