He stepped out of the dark and into the shadows.
The relentlessness of the rain finally tapered, then ended.
Gray light filtered through. An upturned collar against the chill.
It’s all down the straight line now, she had said.
Gotta keep movin’, he had said. ‘Cause then they can’t catch me.
If only my heart were stone, he thought.
Borrowed time in a borrowed world.
The night drags on in the black city.
When your dreams are of some world that never was or some world that never will be…
And you’re happy again, then you’ll have given up.
You can’t give up.
Ever.

– story by Mark Krajnak

For a long time I have been a big fan of Mark Krajnak – JerseyStyle Photography – and his Friday Noir series.

One evening in September in Copenhagen, Charlene and I went for a night walk and very inspired by Mark’s noir work we made quite a few Copenhagen Noir pictures. All of them with Charlene behind the camera and your’s truly as the model (I happened to be wearing my ‘movie outfit’ – rockstar pants and boots could not make the trip to Morocco, I miss you!). It was great fun and we emailed some of the best to Mark. He loved them and has today featured us in his Friday Noir series along with a truly good story and writeup. Such an honour and treat to be featured on Friday Noir, thank you Mark! We are continuing our ‘Noir’ work and have made some Moroccan Noir images.
