Tyst

The ocean is loud yet the world feels quiet. The sound of the wind and the waves is a great white noise that blocks out the world, the voices, the concerns. For a spell every voice and thought in my head is silenced, as I stand in the waves letting this wonder of Mother Nature instill peace in every molecule of my being:

I rarely capture sunsets anymore, I would rather just experience them as I have plenty of sunsets in the library already. When it is this awesome though it would be a shame not to click the shutter once or twice. We have been fortunate to witness some amazing sunsets the past week in Broome. The image is a 17mm cropped wide angle view of a much larger 180 degree sunset over the horizon. It is a simple manual Photoshop layer blend of two exposures, one for just the extremely bright highlights, and one exposure for the rest. I am still toying around with this image in Photoshop but I doubt it needs much more work.

PS. ‘Tyst’ – The title is a Danish (and Swedish) adjective for silence.

  1. See what i arrange for you in my absense, it's a good job we are mates.

Just another wet season sunset flemming, pretty rare these days. It should get better if they put a gas hub here with all that pollution in the air, we will get one like this everynight! We could even taste it too!

see you christmas day buddy…….. PS nice photo

    1. Thanks 🙂 I am grateful my friend for the clouds you send my way when you leave town for a bit. It seems you are like the anti-cloud at the moment, but we shall change that this weekend.

I like your positive thinking about the gas hub, wonderful sunsets in all sorts of psychedelic colours with all sorts of wonderful smells that will probably also induce a psychedelic state of being (free drugs, woohoo)
